Set in the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the inevitability of their past and destiny. This is Netflix’s most expensive Latin American project to date, with Colombian groups and indigenous communities building props and sets for the series. I read this novel in 2018. After finishing it, I searched for movies or series based on this novel, and I found nothing that surprised me. Marquez created an entire world with great craftsmanship, great characters, and events that will be remembered forever. And as for the series, what a series! Often times, when a movie or series is adapted from a novel, the novel is much better, with the exception of a few works. And this series definitely succeeded in adapting the novel properly and bringing this great world to the small screen. To anyone who is hesitant about watching this series, believe me, there is nothing more important than watching the series to pass your time.
